High humidity levels inside a building can indicate that insufficient ventilation air is being supplied; high humidity can cause condensation damage and mold growth which is commonly known as "Sick Building Syndrome" and can cause higher absenteeism, costing significant losses in productivity and potentially to law suits. Although increased ventilation air can lead to greater energy costs, there are methods available to capture energy from the exhausted "stale" air and pre-condition the fresh air stream minimizing the expense of additional heating or cooling.
